The RAF Avro Vulcan

For many years the RAF attended this great air show showing off their Avro Vulcans, I think that I am right in saying that the aircraft were in Canada for the Air Forces' competitions attended by the Canadian Air Force, USAF and the RAF, usually the flying skills of the RAF crews took them to the top of the competition, navigation and bombing being at least two of the tasks set.

These few photographs taken when I was there in 1974 remind me of how impressed I was when I was for the first time able to walk around the aircraft on the flight line representing the aircraft magazine, World AirNews, the flying display was incredible, including rolls carried out by these large aircraft.

This aircraft is RAF Avro Vulcan XM602 – photo's (6)
